2023 Tour Summary – September 30, 2023

Another successful tour with great weather and smiling faces. We thank our amazing host farms, their families and friends. And a big thank you to sponsors and volunteers for helping make the day a success. Our host farms were:

Cash and food donations for local food banks had a total cash value of over $11,000!

2022 Tour Summary – October 1st, 2022

We were back in person for 2022! All farms were in the Grand Valley area. A big thank you to our host farms:

$5515 cash and 1300 lbs of food was collected for local food banks.

2021 Virtual Tour Summary – October 2nd, 2021

With the pandemic still with us, the tour remained virtual for 2021. In our video you will see 5 awesome Dufferin farms, each with a different focus but all very passionate about what they do. Click here to watch the 2021 video.

2020 Virtual Tour Summary – Saturday October 3, 2020

With the COVID-19 pandemic we are unable to open our farms for a day for families to enjoy…so instead we brought farms to families by producing a video to celebrate Dufferin farming! The video premiere was held on October 3rd. We spent the summer visiting farms, interviewing farmers, highlighting the great things happening on our local farms. Click here to watch our video.

On October 3rd we hosted a Food Drive to support our local food banks. Total donations were $3369.50 cash & gift cards and 3680 pounds of food.

2019 Tour Summary – Saturday September 28, 2019

September 28, 2019 was an outstanding day for participants, hosts and everyone involved with the Dufferin Farm Tour. Visitors toured five farm operations that opened their gates to the public. Food donations were amazing, approximately 3100 lbs of food and $1100 cash was given. This was divided among four food banks in Dufferin County.

Thank you to our tour host farms: Sevenhills Holsteins, Eric Pott Family Beef Farm, Hockley Hills School of Horsemanship, Hockley Valley Farm, Am Braigh Farm.

Dufferin Cattlemen Association/Beef Farmers of Ontario Display, Dairy Educator / Dufferin Milk Producers, Landman Gardens and Bakery, Grain Display (Anita Burnette), Grand River Robotics, Anne’s Kitchen Preserves, Headwaters Food & Farm Alliance, The Repurposed Equestrian, Pottview Farm (goats and cheese), Fiddlehead Care Farm booth, Canadian Food Grains booth, Reid’s Potatoes and Farm Market (Brooke Reid), Dufferin Beekeepers, Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority, Sheep exhibit (Bill McCutcheon, the Littles, the VanKampens), High Country United Church (lunch booth), Primrose United Church (lunch booth), High Country Antique Power Club (Earl Dodds), Orangeville Agricultural Society, Caledon Fair, Hockley Valley Honey, Mono Pollinator Garden, …and we can’t forget Santa!

2018 Tour Summary – Saturday September 29, 2018
Place: Central Dufferin (Mono & Amaranth)

The 2018 tour was a big success! Visitors toured 6 awesome host farms and almost 3000 pounds of food and $900 was collected for local food banks.

The 2015 tour showcased 5 farms in West Dufferin and included a dairy farm, beef farm, an alpaca farm, a crop/seed operation and a market garden farm with goats.
